Please note: Due to the impending inclement weather, the outreach event at the Butler Public Library has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 5th.
Our Passport and Notary Departments will be hosting an outreach event at the Butler Public Library, located at 1 Ace Road, on Thursday, April 5th. Anyone interested in applying for a new or renewal passport, or taking their Notary Public oath of office, may do so any time from 10:00am to 2:00pm. We will also be holding an outreach event at the County College of Morris Student Center, located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph, on Thursday, April 12th, from 9:30am to 2:00pm. See our CCM event flyers for more details.
Please be advised that we are not able to accept cash as payment and passport photos will not be available on-site during these events.
Passport Application Acceptance Fee Increasing to $35 in April
Please be aware that the U.S. Department of State will be increasing the passport application acceptance fee from $25 to $35 as of Monday, April 2nd. This increase will only pertain to those applying for their new or renewal passport in-person and will not affect those renewing by mail.
Overnight Delivery Fee Increased to $15.89
As of January 22nd, the U.S. Department of State has increased the overnight passport delivery service fee from $15.45 to $15.89 for expedited passport application processing.
REAL ID Act Extension Granted Until October 10, 2018
The Department of Homeland Security has issued an extension that will allow travelers to continue using their New Jersey issued driver’s licenses and non-driver identification cards to board domestic flights until October 10, 2018. Please visit www.dhs.gov/real-id for the most up to date news regarding the REAL ID Act travel requirements.
Passport Department Evening Hours on Tuesdays
Our Passport Department is open late Tuesday evenings.
Due to required processing times, we cannot accept walk-ins past 4:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays or past 7:30pm on Tuesdays.
Only those with appointments will be accepted beyond those times.
If you would like to set up a time to meet with a Passport Acceptance Agent, please call 973-285-6161. We will set aside 15 minutes for each application to be processed. If there is a need to cancel, please notify our office at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Get Your Passport at the Morris County Clerk’s Office

The Passports Department of the Morris County Clerk’s Office is an Acceptance Agency for the U.S. Department of State. We assist in the preparation of passport applications and the collection of all supporting documents, which are then forwarded to the State Department. We offer an expedited service for those who may be traveling on short notice as well as extended hours on Tuesday evenings. We will process the applications of all first time passport applicants, renewal applicants, and provide mail-in applications for those that meet the requirements.

The Morris County Clerk’s Office also offers passport photos! The photo fee is $10 and is added to the County Clerk’s fees.
